Northern Beaches Wedding Venues
Northern Beaches weddings are always the ultimate vibe! They have this wonderful balance of laid-back energy and ridiculously good beach views. Whether it’s a barefoot ceremony overlooking the ocean or a more polished coastal venue, I love helping couples create ceremonies that feel fun, natural and never overly formal… even when the wind is trying to eat your vows.
These are some of my favourite Northern Beaches wedding venues, along with a few insider tips from a celebrant who has spent a fair amount of time standing in front of couples with a microphone in one hand and a very strong opinion about ceremony timing in the other.
Pilu at Freshwater
Freshwater, NSW
Pilu at Freshwater is one of those Northern Beaches wedding venues where the setting does an awful lot of the heavy lifting.
Sitting right on Freshwater Beach, the heritage-listed beach house, private garden and ocean views give the whole place a beautiful beachside feel without becoming overly casual. There's a slightly Mediterranean, holiday-by-the-water atmosphere that makes you feel like you've somehow wandered onto the Amalfi Coast, except you're still in Sydney.
What I particularly love about Pilu is how beautifully it works for intimate and boutique weddings. The garden overlooking Freshwater Beach is a gorgeous spot for a ceremony, followed by drinks, canapés and some seriously good food and wine.
With award-winning Sardinian cuisine, a spectacular seaside backdrop and the beach just metres away, it's a pretty hard combination to beat.
Pro Tip: If you're planning a smaller wedding or elopement, definitely look into Pilu's boutique wedding options. Keeping things intimate here can actually make the whole experience feel even more special.
Pasadena
Church Point, NSW
Pasadena has one of those views that immediately makes guests reach for their phones before they've even found their seats.
Sitting right on the water, it delivers a beautiful combination of harbour views, relaxed coastal vibes and a setting that feels distinctly Northern Beaches without trying too hard. The waterfront backdrop creates a naturally relaxed atmosphere, while the boho-chic styling gives the whole place a tranquil and intimate feel. The restaurant is exquisite and strikes a lovely balance between elegance and fun.
It's a fantastic choice for couples wanting a wedding that feels stylish, relaxed and just a little bit beachy.

Pro Tip: Pasadena has direct waterfront access and a private jetty, meaning your wedding party can arrive by boat or even a seaplane when arriving by car just doesn't feel dramatic enough. Take it from me, I arrived to my high school formal on a camel.
Jonah's
Palm Beach, NSW
Jonah's has to be in my top five all-time favourite wedding venues.
Not only is it luxurious, elegant and classy, but the views are absolutely spectacular. There aren't many venues in Australia that can compete when it comes to dramatic scenery, and Jonah's manages to make the Pacific Ocean look like it's been specifically positioned for your wedding photos.
Despite the luxury reputation, weddings at Jonah's often feel surprisingly intimate. The setting naturally creates an incredible sense of occasion while still allowing you to keep things relaxed and personal. And the food and service are seriously next level.
It's a dream venue for anyone wanting a wedding that feels equal parts elegant, memorable and unmistakably Northern Beaches.
Pro Tip: This is really a venue that shines in spring and summer. Even on a hot day, the height of the venue on the cliffs allows for a beautiful coastal breeze that takes the edge off. Nature's air conditioning, basically.
Long Reef Golf Club
Collaroy, NSW
Long Reef Golf Club offers some of the best coastal views on the Northern Beaches. It's truly an incredible backdrop for a wedding ceremony, and the view from the reception space doesn't disappoint either.
The ceremony area somehow feels intimate and expansive at the same time. It's very open, with plenty of space around you, but the coastline, tree line and club itself frame the ceremony beautifully. It gives the impression that the entire ocean view has been reserved exclusively for your wedding.
It's also incredibly accessible for guests and offers plenty of different viewpoints and unique spots for photos. The whole vibe is relaxed, and the venue works beautifully with couples to make sure their needs are met and that the wedding feels welcoming, fun and genuinely enjoyable for everyone involved.
Pro Tip: If you can time cocktail hour to sunset, your guests will thank you, your photographer will thank you, and you'll thank the sun god, Apollo himself.
Zest Waterfront Venues
Mosman, NSW
Couples who choose Zest are often looking for a celebration that reflects their personality, and the venue lends itself perfectly to that approach. Great food, incredible views and a lively atmosphere is a pretty solid combination.
The outside deck offers a relaxed waterfront setting, while the upstairs deck is so deceptively large and well styled that it helps create the vibe before you've even dressed it.
There's plenty of opportunity for cocktail hours, breakout areas and getting everyone outside to enjoy the waterfront. The food is incredible, and the staff go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need... and then probably a few things you didn't realise you needed.
In my experience, some live music on the upstairs balcony is the ultimate way to keep the vibes going after the ceremony.
Pro Tip: Zest is literally a stone's throw from Orso Bayside, and their ceremony areas are right beside each other. When booking either venue, it's worth checking whether another ceremony is happening at the same time as yours and planning accordingly.
You may not want to be exchanging your vows while another couple is doing the exact same thing 30 metres away.
Trust me. I lived it.
Wiltshire Park
Palm Beach, NSW
Wiltshire Park is one of those little hidden pockets of Palm Beach that's seriously underrated.
Tucked away among a canopy of palms, sky-high bamboo and lush greenery, it has a relaxed tropical feel that somehow makes you forget you're still in Sydney. Or Australia, for that matter.
It feels intimate, private and like your own personal escape all at once.
You'll often hear that Wiltshire Park is best suited to elopements and smaller weddings, but the majority of the weddings I've done there have actually been large weddings with more than 100 guests. And honestly? Wiltshire Park was perfect for them.
Even with a large crowd, it still feels more like a gathering of your favourite people in a beautiful hidden spot. The tree line frames the ceremony area beautifully, and all you really need is a drinks cart and some music to keep everyone thriving before and after the ceremony.
Plus, you're only moments away from Palm Beach for photos afterwards, which is a fairly handy bonus.
The main downside is that there's roughly a 200-metre incline walk across grass to get to the ceremony area. So if you have guests with accessibility requirements, this is definitely something you'll want to consider.
Pro Tip: There are no bathrooms up at Wiltshire Park, so let your guests know to visit the public bathrooms down the road before making their way up.
It sounds like a small thing, but nothing brings a wedding ceremony to a screeching halt quite like someone discovering they've got a full bladder halfway through your vows.
Orso Bayside
Mosman, NSW
Run by the same team behind Athol Hall, Orso Bayside combines waterfront views with a polished, modern feel that works beautifully for couples wanting something elegant without feeling stuffy.
Sitting right on Middle Harbour, the venue offers a stunning backdrop across the water while still maintaining a warm and intimate atmosphere.
What stands out to me about Orso is how versatile the space is. Whether you're planning a sophisticated black-tie celebration or something a little more relaxed, the venue adapts effortlessly.
It's one of those places where you can dress everything up and make it feel incredibly polished, but the waterfront setting keeps it feeling relaxed and distinctly Sydney.
Pro Tip: Just like Zest, Orso is literally a stone's throw from the other venue, and the ceremony areas are right beside each other.
When booking either venue, check whether another ceremony is taking place at the same time and plan accordingly. The last thing you want is to be competing with another couple's vows within earshot.
Again... trust me. I lived it.
